You are right about the concept of pulling people from urban lifestyle to a rural one. My analysis tells me that most of the hypertension in the people is due to the lifestyle that we follow these days. Your driver was actually correct in mentioning the early rising habits of those people. They wake up with the natural light and go to bed when it gets dark. I see my colleagues gone semi mad due to the routine that they follow. They have to spend at least 90 minutes daily on roads and then the late sittings in the offices (the greasy lunches and dinners are just a free add on). They already look 10 years older and are 10 kilos heavy than the average weight in their age group.
I myself live in Karachi and have been visiting a number of places around Islamabad with an idea of starting tunnel farming / vegetable farming in nearby areas. This will not only bring in a healthy lifestyle but will also help us in being self sufficient in food (thus reducing the import bills of food) and will also be healthy for our environment.
